Life in Australia

Ask us about our exciting Internship program!

Australia is a beautiful, safe country. Great weather, friendly people, a lively multicultural environment and a well earned reputation for quality education are only some of the reasons many students choose Australia as their study destination.

Living Costs

Students should budget between AU$13,000 and AU$16,000 a year to cover their living costs whilst studying. This includes accommodation, food, transport, books, clothing, health services and entertainment.

Employment

International students wishing to work in Australia must apply for a special work permit from DIMIA following enrolment. Students who receive a work permit will be permitted to work up to 20 hours a week during a semester and full-time during vacations. Rates of pay may range from AU$10 to AU$20 an hour for casual labour. Income tax (about 25%) is normally deducted from your pay before you receive it.
