Under 18 year olds can attend ACN under the supervision of a legal guardian based in Australia. ACN does not accept legal responsibility for the care of Under 18s. However, ACN does follow specific policies and procedures for accommodating, supporting and monitoring international students who are under 18 years of age whilst they are studying in Australia.   Accommodation for under 18s All international students who are under 18 years of age must satisfy one of the following accommodation requirements whilst studying at ACN: Live with at least one parent; or Live with an adult who normally lives in New South Wales (other than an overseas student) who has been appointed in writing by a parent of the student to act as the student's guardian; or Live with an approved homestay family.

The student’s parents must provide ACN with written documentation regarding these arrangements before the student starts their studies. Students who wish to change their accommodation must contact the Manager, Admissions to gain written approval prior to moving. If the student does not live in approved accommodation then the student may be reported to DIAC for a breach of their student visa condition.

Learning support for Under 18s

The welfare and academic progress of international students who are under 18 years of age is monitored by Manager, Admissions. International students under 18 years of age are required to attend appointments with the Welfare Advisor at least once each semester or when requested. These appointments determine if there are any problems with living arrangements, meeting academic requirements or personal issues. Should a student who is under 18 years of age fail to attend appointments with the Welfare Advisor, the student's parents may be contacted and/or the student may be reported to the DIAC.
