Information for Parents
The transition from school to University can be a very stressful time for parents and their children. To answer some of the questions you may have, click on one or more of the links that apply to you.
How will my child be selected to the Sydney campus of Australian Campus Network?
In most cases, your child will be selected for admission on the basis of their high school results through their HSC or another equivalent high school qualification. They will receive a University Admissions Index (UAI), which gives them a ranking against other students in the state. In some special circumstances students may need to attend an interview.

How do they apply?
Students apply directly to ACN, NOT UAC. They need to fill in the application form with any relevant materials such as UAI results and transcripts, and send it to the Admissions Manager.

What UAI do they need to be considered for a place?
Entry to the Bachelor of Business program for 2006 required a UAI of 65 and above to be considered for entry.

What if they don’t get this mark?
Students who receive a UAI score of less than 65 can apply for the Diploma of Business Administration, which is a pathway to the Bachelor degree. The higher their results, the less time they need to spend studying the diploma.

When is the deadline to enrol?
The Sydney campus has three intakes per year, in March, July and November. Our most popular intake is March because of the many Year 12 entrants. To secure your place in the March intake, applications should be received by January 20, and priority is given to those students who apply by this time. Applications will still be accepted after January 20 but will be subject to the number of places available. For July and November intakes, students should apply at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of the semester to ensure they secure a place.

Can they defer?
Students have the opportunity to defer their studies if they wish.
