10. I need to discontinue a subject I am enrolled in because it clashes with another subject. What should I do?

You need to fill in a Variation of Enrolment form. This form needs to be approved by an Academic Advisor. You also need to be aware of the due date ( the census date). If you discontinue a subject before the census date, no (academic and financial) penalties apply. The census date is published on the portal under Important Dates.

For international students, the last day to discontinue a unit may not be the census date. As international students need to keep a full-time load (4 units), you must be able to add a new unit when you discontinue a unit. This means that the last day to discontinue a unit is Friday Week 2.

However, a grade K will appear on your transcript, indicating that you have withdrawn after the census date. This grade K is not counted as a fail.
