Week 4 Evaluation
Student are requesting more break time during classes. Lectures were informed by Academic Director to ensure adequate breaks exsisted (min 15 mins for two hours) during lectures and tutorials, particularly for diploma classes.
Students wanted more a ccess into 71 York St after hours to avoid inconvenience. Since 2005, management has ensured access to the building during evening lectures is now provided; lifts have been reconfigured to allow after after-hour access until 7.30 pm.
Some concerns were raised about some ACN staff 's PR skills ACN administration staff meet regularly with the Managing Director, and in-service training occurs regularly to identify areas of improvement of services. If students have a particular interaction they are concerned about a "feedback" form should be completed. All feedback forms are viewed by the Managing Director.
Poor air-conditioning was reported in room 409 The air-conditioning in room 409 has been checked and necessary improvements have been made.
Student's resources to be available in hard-copy ACN makes resources available online and  encourages students to move towards downloading their own materials.
ACN requires lecturers to upload materials onto the resource website.
Possibility of changing start time (evening sessions) to 5.45 pm Regrettaby, given the pressures on the total schedule for delivery of La Trobe courses, changing the start time is not possible.
The alarm goes off during the night class, and the door bell sounds because someone can't access the building There are two issues here. First, the fire alarm sounds when somebody in 71 York street on ANY floor exits using the fire door. This is a legal requirement and therefore cannot be controlled by ACN. The door bell matter has been addressed with extended building entry hours (until 7.30).
Computers in the PC room to work better A new printer is set up in the PC room for students.
Overhead projectors in room to assist/show slides Two overhead projectors are currently available and up to 5 fixed data-projectors will be available following the move to 65 York Street by July.
Week 10 Evaluation
Adding a food vending machine in the building (65 York St)

Due to the close proximity of 24 hour convenience stores, cafes and restaurants, ACN's practice is not to duplicate by adding food machines in 65 York Street building. ACN has also negotiated La Trobe student discounts at the following merchants near - by:

Creating a library

ACN has a limited physical library and while texts are added each year, most resources are either:

-provided online through the student resources site

-available from the State Library of NSW
Macquarie Street Sydney NSW 2000

-available from City of Sydney Libraries.
1. Customs House Library
2. Glebe Library
3. Haymarket Library
4. King Cross Library
5. Newtown Library
6. Paddinton Library
7. Pyrmont Library
8. Surry Hills Library
9. Town Hall Library
10. Ultimo Library
11. Waterloo Library

-available from inter-library loan if you have your library card.
ACN's policy is to reimburse students $50.00 it costs to establish membership at a NSW unversity library. Some universities are more expensibe than others.

The Universities that many of our students report they go to are:

-University of Sydney Library

-UTS Library City campus
Broadway - No1 Broadway, Ultimo
Haymarket - Cnr Quay st & Ultimo Rd, Haymarket

-UWS Library
Students can get a UWS library card from any of the UWS city locations.

ACN students have access to LTU's online library at here.
Students are able to access past exam papers and various journal articles online.

Arranging the classes to start later than time scheduled now Regrettably, given the pressures on the total schedule for delivery of La Trobe courses, changing the start time is not possibe.
To Make passing easier and put more weighting on internals LTU in Melbourne controls the marking and content of the degree subjects offered here at ACN, so we cannot "Make passing easier" than what is dictated by La Trobe."
To provide further effective and efficient facilities ACN has put some resources into improving the current facilities since March 2005,however, capital expenditure is allocated to 65 York Street for when we move for the July semester intake.
